How to get out of Cancún Airport and find your driver

Cancún International Airport (CUN) has four passenger terminals: 1, 2, 3 and 4. Your ticket or your airline tells you which one you land at. This guide explains what happens after you land and where your Cancún Nation driver meets you.

1. Immigration, baggage and customs

If you arrive on an international flight, after you get off the plane you go through immigration, pick up your bags and go through customs. On a domestic flight you just pick up your bags. Then you're free to walk out.

2. The vendor area

Before the exit there's a hallway with people and booths offering transportation, tours and timeshares; some travelers call it the "shark tank". You don't need to stop or give out your details: if you've booked, your driver is already waiting. Keep walking toward the exit.

3. Where your driver meets you

We wait for you inside the terminal with a name sign. When your flight lands, we send you a photo of the sign on WhatsApp so you can easily spot your driver.

4. If your flight is delayed

We track your flight with the number you give us when you book. If it is delayed, the driver waits at no extra cost, however many hours it takes.

5. Bring cash

With Cancún Nation you pay on arrival, in cash to the driver, in Mexican pesos or US dollars at the day's exchange rate; we don't ask for a deposit. Please bring cash: we don't take cards on arrival.

6. Other ways to leave the airport

ADO is a shared bus with fixed departure times that leaves the airport for downtown Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and other cities; it drops you at its bus station, not at your hotel. The Tren Maya has a station on the airport grounds, but not next to the terminals: you get there on a free shuttle. A private transfer takes you straight to your hotel.

Where does the driver meet me at Cancún Airport?

Inside the terminal, with a name sign. At Terminals 1, 2 and 4, we wait in the authorized transportation area as you come out, next to the Welcome Bar; at Terminal 3, at the Margaritaville Bar. We have an access contract with Cancún Airport to pick up our passengers.

How do I recognize my driver at the airport?

When your flight lands, we send you a photo of the sign with your name so you can easily spot your driver. If someone inside the terminal offers you transportation or tours, you don't need to stop: your driver is already waiting for you with that sign.

What if my flight is delayed?

How much is a private transfer from the airport to my hotel?

It depends on the destination: from $750 MXN one way per van to Downtown Cancún and $800 MXN to the Hotel Zone, up to $1,900 MXN to Tulum. The price is per van, for up to 8 people.
